 Anacortes provides a wide variety of entertainment options, ranging from community theatre to live music, from a monthly art walk to a self-guided mural tour. There is something for every visitor.
Our award-winning Anacortes Community Theatre (ACT) has been in existence for over forty years, providing top-flight stage plays over many genres. Main stage productions begin in February each year and run every other month.
The town has become a hot-bed for live music over the past few years, with a number of venues - including the Anacortes Jazz Festival in October--offering jazz, blues, rock, and folk. Performers vary from local entertainers to national headliners.
The city's art galleries open their doors for extended hours the first Friday of each month. In June and December, the walks are expanded to other merchants, as well. We invite you to come sample both emerging and established regional artists, offering painting, sculpture, glasswork, jewelry, and decorative arts.
Local artist Bill Mitchell has been producing high-quality mural work for the past twenty-five years. His art can be seen all over town, with depictions of historic scenes, whimsical subjects, and the personal touch. A mural map is available through the visitor center and is a wonderful way to discover Anacortes.
