With the sterling lineup of established and emerging talent detailed elsewhere in this program, the Anacortes Jazz Festival welcomes its fourth year on Curtis Wharf, overlooking scenic Guemes Channel and its entertaining stream of marine activity. We have made a number of significant changes to the Festival this year. Specifically:

	The date has been moved up two weeks to Labor Day Weekend, taking advantage of traditionally sunny weather and an expanded format.
	Festival scheduling has been extended to three full days.
	Performers cover a wider range of styles, from traditional mainstream jazz to smooth jazz to big band to blues. There is truly something for every taste.
	Seattle jazz station KPLU will be sponsoring our Gala stage on Friday evening, featuring Mary Stallings and the Mel Brown Trio.

Please join us for this anticipated event. Where else can you enjoy an outstanding lineup of top performers while sipping fine wine, snacking on seafood, and taking in an unsurpassed view? In addition, there will be a free concert in Causland Park on Friday afternoon, a free Latin-Jazz Salsa Party at 6:00 on Saturday, and the Jazz Walk on both Friday and Saturday nights, featuring music at a nine local pubs.
